With Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, we wanted to share some interesting facts for BUMPS and BABIES relating to the Moon Festival.
Moon Goddess and Pregnancy: In Chinese mythology, the goddess Chang’e, who resides on the moon, is a symbol of beauty and immortality. Some legends say that she blesses women with fertility and healthy pregnancies, which is why many offer her prayers for a smooth delivery or healthy baby during this time.
Eating Mooncakes for Good Luck: Mooncakes, the traditional pastry of the Mid-Autumn Festival, often have symbols of harmony and good fortune. Some families believe that eating mooncakes during pregnancy can bring good luck, health, and happiness to the baby, making it a cherished tradition for expecting mothers.
Lanterns as Symbols of Light and Protection: Lanterns, a key part of the festival, represent light, guidance, and protection. Some families light lanterns in honor of their unborn babies or newborns, symbolically guiding them to a bright future and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Would you know what to do in an emergency? Parent Infant Programme have their next infant first aid class coming up on the 19th September 6-9pm. FREE PREGNANCY/BIRTH COUNSELLING
Good news! Lindsay from CalmBirthHK is training to be a counsellor and is planning to focus her work on the pregnancy/birth space. We can't think of a better person for the job! WHAT'S BEEN BUMPIN'?
TYPHOON YAGI
We hope you have all been keeping safe (+dry) with Typhoon Yagi. It definitely brought back some COVID vibes for BUMP&CO. with us having to run our November Session 2 on Labour and Delivery online!! It was also great to get some of you connected through the airwaves with a morning stretch and flex with Ishka from Mummas Who Move and a baby massage-along with Jen from Little.
SURPRISE SEPTEMBER BABIES!
The September due date group graduated last week. We had a bit of excitement in the last session as two sets of parents were missing as they had given birth that day!! Congratulations to you four (and all the other September babies that have been born since and its only the first week of September!)
SELL OUT BABY CAFÉ
Our second BABY CAFÉ was SOLD OUT! We had 20 parents with their babies come to chat to other new mums and dads, get their caffeine fix and enjoy a special treat from Little with a 20 min taster of their baby gross motor development class. Was so nice to see some ex-BUMPS with their new BUMP friends as they enter the world of BUB together!
